Andrew Murray is a professional tennis player of Scottish heritage. He has won over 21 career titles and was the seventh player since 1968 to reach the semi-finals of all four Grand Slams in one year in 2011.

Murray is currently ranked as the world number two since 2009 and Britain’s number one since February 27, 2006.

Alongside all of his titles, Murray also took the win at the 2012 Olympic Games, where he defeated Roger Federer in straight sets, making him the first British singles champion in over 100 years. In that same year, at the US Open, Murray became the first British man since 1936 to win a Grand Slam title as he battled it out against Novak Djokovic.

His career has been filled with great success, having won over $40,000,000 in prize money and just as much in endorsements.

So what watch does Andy Murray wear?

In 2012, Andy Murray became partners with Rado to wear their D-Star 200 model. The two have a thriving partnership and the CEO of Rado was quoted saying: “Andy Murray always stands out from the crowd with his distinctive playing style and unrivalled tactical intelligence. Rado admires his true talent and perfectionism – and at the same time can identify totally with his ‘racquet rebel’ side.” Some would say this makes them the perfect match.

The Rado D-star 200 has a 42-44mm stainless steel case with a thin blue or black ceramic bezel. The chronograph runs on the Valjoux caliber 7753, also known as the A05.H31, which has a longer power reserve than the original Valjoux movement. Rado watches were initially designed for diving, and because of this, Murray’s watch boasts a water resistance level of around 200 meters. On the dial, the date is displayed on a sleek dial, sheltered by sapphire crystal which is scratch-resistant and anti-reflective.

In 2013 after he defeated Djokovic for the Wimbledon title and more recently, Murray was seen wearing the Rado Hypercrome self-winding chronograph.

Some have said that Murray’s partnership with Rado is a good luck charm, seeing that after their partnership became official, he was the first Brit to conquer at Wimbledon since 1936.

Murray is most definitely one of the greatest players of the game, both in his playing style to his personality. He’s one of those players who is simultaneously hated and loved, and Rado is exactly the kind of watch manufacturer to fit that mold.

The success their partnership, however, has not yet been fully realized. One thing for sure, Rado has been recognized more extensively since partnering with Murray, and it’s clear that they both are aiming high.
