The Smallest Moon of 2015 and the Moon-Phase Complication

Tonight’s full moon will be the smallest full moon of the entire year, thanks to the full moon and lunar apogee falling on the same day.  In honor of such, we gathered a collection of the moon-phase timepieces we have in for a little photo-shoot.

The moon-phase complication geographically displays the current phase of the moon according to the lunar calendar. Less practical than many other complications, the moon-phase is set apart for its aesthetic appeal. We hand-picked some of our most handsome moon-phase pieces for your (and our) enjoyment.

Audemars Piguet Skeleton Perpetual Calendar 25636BA

Breguet Classique Power Reserve 3130

Maurice Lacroix Masterpiece Phase de Lune MP6347

Maurice Lacroix Masterpiece Retrograde Moonphase Power Reserve MP7078

Parmigiani Fleurier 18k Gold Toric Perpetual Calendar 7645

Patek Philippe Gondolo 5135P

Be sure to check out tonight’s micro-moon and our website for our collection of watches with the moon-phase complication up for sale.
