Chronoswiss released the Small Second Serpentine and Small Second Jasper in limited editions of 50 pieces each. They are both in 40mm cases and feature a small seconds subdial at the nine o'clock position, with the Jasper version in stainless steel and the Serpentine version in two-tone stainless steel and 18k red gold. Each dial is cut from a unique piece of natural stone, so no two dials are alike. The Jasper retails for $13,900 and the Serpentine for $21,300.

Icelandic microbrand JS Watch Co. Reykjavik is debuting the Total Solar Eclipse Collection to commemorate the total eclipse whose path of totality crosses western Iceland on August 12, 2026. The collection features three dial variations in blue, ruby red, and black in an edition of 50 pieces in each color, all in 38mm stainless steel cases. The dials all have an embossed lunar surface and are surrounded by a luminous Super-LumiNova eclipse ring. The collection was proposed to the brand by Icelandic astronomy communicator Sævar Helgi Bragason, and the dials carry a hidden reference to the event: the hour marker at 5 and the minute marker at 48 are picked out in pink, marking 17:48, the moment of totality over Reykjavík.

The first round of voting will continue through August 16. The 84 nominated timepieces will be unveiled on September 1, ahead of the awards ceremony on November 7 at the Bâtiment des Forces Motrices in Geneva. This year 194 brands entered 320 timepieces. Chrono24, the Germany-based online marketplace, published The Rolex Report 2026 on August 5, drawn from completed transactions between 2018 and the second quarter of 2026. It finds that Rolex's share of sales on the platform has dropped to a seven-year low of about 30%, down from over 44% in 2022, despite Rolex's dominant position as the best-selling brand in the secondary market overall. The last time Rolex fell below 30% on Chrono24 was 2019. Separately, EveryWatch, a watch market database, puts Rolex at 41% of all secondary market transaction value in the first six months of 2026. EveryWatch tracks the entire secondary watch market, including auction sales, certified pre-owned sales through authorized retailers, and secondary market platforms such as eBay and Chrono24.

Breitling and Aston Martin hosted a celebration of the new Top Time B01 Chronograph 41 Tribute to Aston Martin DB5, with an actual vintage DB5 on hand, in the Aston Martin showroom in New York City on August 5, 2026. The two brands announced their partnership in February 2026, but the pairing on which this watch is based goes back to Sean Connery's portrayal of James Bond in 1965's Thunderball, where he wore a Breitling Top Time ref. 2002 while driving the DB5. The three versions in this new edition pay tribute to the automaker's DB5 model with details like a wooden rehaut. The 18k red gold version has an onyx dial and is in an edition of 250 pieces. Two steel versions, one with a platinum bezel and black lacquered dial, limited to 315 pieces, and one with a silver dial, limited to 1,022 pieces, round out the collection.
