Who Owns Cartier, Omega, Bulova and TAG Heuer? The Watch Brand Ownership Map

Movado has agreed to sell 95% of Ebel to a buyer group led by F.P. Journe’s Montres Journe SA, with Chanel taking part. Our map shows which brands sit under Swatch Group, Richemont, LVMH, Citizen, Seiko Group and the other major groups, and the stakes and movement makers that connect them.

Swatch Group owns Omega, Longines, Breguet and Blancpain, along with its movement maker, ETA. Richemont’s maisons range from Cartier to A. Lange & Söhne. LVMH holds TAG Heuer and Zenith alongside Hublot and Bulgari, and Rolex founder Hans Wilsdorf created Montres Tudor SA in 1946. In Japan, Seiko Group, Citizen and Epson each run their own stables of brands.

Below the brand level, the lines are harder to draw. Grand Seiko’s Spring Drive and quartz models are made at the Shinshu Watch Studio, inside Seiko Epson’s Shiojiri plant, though Epson and Seiko Group are separate companies. Kenissi, which Tudor calls its movement production facility, counts Chanel among its shareholders, and in November 2025 LVMH invested in La Joux-Perret, a movement maker that belongs to Citizen.

Ownership has kept moving this year. Richemont completed its sale of Baume & Mercier to the Damiani Group on July 1, 2026. On October 8, Movado announced that it had agreed to sell 95% of Ebel to a buyer group led by Montres Journe SA, with Chanel taking part, in a deal that has yet to close. Chanel’s holdings in independent houses already included 25% of MB&F, taken in 2024.

The map above outlines which companies own what as of October 2026, with partial stakes and movement manufacturers marked and the ties between groups numbered in the key. We built it as a reference, complete though not exhaustive.

LVMH: TAG Heuer, Zenith, Hublot, Bulgari, Tiffany & Co., Daniel Roth, Gérald Genta, L'Epée 1839 and Louis Vuitton. LVMH also holds a minority stake in the movement maker La Joux-Perret, which belongs to Citizen. Citizen: Citizen, Bulova, Frederique Constant, Alpina, Arnold & Son, Angelus and Campanola, along with the movement makers Miyota and La Joux-Perret. Chanel: Chanel holds minority stakes in F.P. Journe, Romain Gauthier and Bell & Ross, a 25% stake in MB&F and a share of the movement maker Kenissi. A buyer group led by Montres Journe SA, with Chanel taking part, has agreed to buy 95% of Ebel from Movado, which will keep 5%. Rolex: Rolex founder Hans Wilsdorf created Montres Tudor SA in 1946. Tudor calls Kenissi, founded in 2016, its movement production facility. Seiko Group: Seiko, Grand Seiko and Credor. Epson: Orient and Orient Star.
