Rolex released the Yacht-Master (Ref. 16628) in 1992 as part of the Professional series, available only in yellow gold. Two years later, they added a ladies (Ref. 69628) and a midsize (Ref. 68628) model to the lineup. At first, these were also gold only, but in 1996 they were released in two-toned models as well. Later, a stainless steel version of the midsize was also made available. In 1997, the Rolesium (stainless steel and platinum) model debuted and was an instant success. Yacht-Master options were expanded even further in 2005 when Rolex added a Rolesor (gold & stainless steel) version with dial colors of either white, mother-of-pearl, blue, champagne, brown, or silver. In 2010, Rolex introduced the Yacht-Master II in yellow gold (Ref. 116688) and white gold (Ref. 116689), then in steel and everose gold (Ref. 116681) in 2011. This Rolex watch has a case size of 44mm and uses the 4160 movement.
