About Panerai Luminor 1950 Watches
The Panerai Luminor 1950 is a slight variation on the Panerai Luminor. The case design was inspired by the case of the Luminor in 1950's, and has components from both the Luminor and Radiomir cases in its design. It is rounded, cusp-shaped on the sides, and has the metal guard protecting the crown. Rather than welding wire lugs to the case, the historic Luminor 1950 lugs are carved from one single block of steel to ensure its durability and to make it more watertight. The stainless steel used for the case is resistant to corrosion and is also hypoallergenic. Many of the dials in this line feature a date-window at 3 o'clock. Also, the strap is thinner, and the flat, transparent case-back reveals the movement. The design of the Panerai Luminor 1950 is the perfect balance of tradition and innovation.
