Formula 1 History & Interesting Facts
The Tag Heuer Formula 1 collection is both named for and draws inspiration from the McLaren Formula 1 Team. With the collection’s advanced technology and sporty appeal, champion drivers such as Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button are proud to wear the models from the collection and be ambassadors for the brand. The most impressive element of the Formula 1 watches is the innovative ceramic material that was developed specifically for the line. Most of the models in this collection feature a chronograph complication. Another interesting feature of the Formula 1 models is the intricate bezel that is designed to mimic a speedometer. The minutes are counted around the bezel on the exterior of the dial. The sporty nature of these models is enhanced by the stainless steel case along with the option for a matching stainless steel strap or an athletic rubber strap, which is offered in a variety of colors. Despite the utilitarian nature of the collection, there are more elegant additives, such as diamonds, available to enhance the timepieces for a day-to-day look. These accents are particularly appealing to the buyers of the Formula 1 ladies collection. All of the watches in this collection use a quartz movement and feature luminescent hand markers.
