Preowned Watch Details
Circa 1970 (2.6 Million Case Serial Number). Watch is in very good vintage condition with some wear on the case and bezel. Leather strap with stainless steel tang buckle is a brand new aftermarket replacement. This watch features the original matte black "Serif" dial with beautiful ivory patina'd luminous indexes and matching hands. "Serif" dial refers to the 1970's era dials with ornamental (serif) details to the 3/6/9 luminous markers and the hour indexes along the perimeter of the dial. The luminous dots are also larger than the earlier Submariner models, but are technically not considered "Maxi" dials. These serif dial models, especially when turned a warm ivory color like the current example, add to the popularity and desirability of this classic no-date Submariner model.
