Omega’s De Ville collection is known for its modern aesthetic, and this model appeals largely to the younger, up-and-coming generation of watch collectors. Over the years, the De Ville has earned numerous awards for its unique design. As it has grown in popularity, Omega has expanded the line and now includes a number of different variations, such as the Hour Vision, Ladymatic, Tresor, Prestige, Gents’ Collection and Tourbillon.
The Omega De Ville began as an extension of the Seamaster line in the early 1960s, and the brand decided to officially make the De Ville its own collection in 1967. The De Ville draws inspiration from the Seamaster, but it offers its own personality. Aimed at a younger clientele, the collection is known for its wide array of color and design options and simple, straightforward, modern aesthetic. The De Ville was the first in the Omega family of watches to be fitted with the brand’s new co-axial caliber in 1999, and the caliber 8500, one of the brand’s first co-axial movements to be produced in-house, in 2007.
There are now six different iterations of the De Ville: The Hour Vision, Ladymatic, Tresor, Prestige, Gents’ Collection and Tourbillon. To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the collection, the brand introduced three exclusive, high-end variations of the De Ville in 2017. The golden anniversary editions of the De Ville are each housed in a 39.5mm case in either white, red, or yellow gold. Each is marked with a special “50th Anniversary” designation and powered by the brand’s automatic co-axial caliber 2500 movement.
