The Audemars Piguet Edward Piguet collection is named for one of the company's founders Edward Piguet. Of the two, Piguet took the most extreme care to detail in his craft. After each watch was completed, he finalized the pieces to ensure they had been perfectly constructed. Thus, he officially took on the role of 'repasseuer,' or regulator. Piguet mandated that all development and production be executed in-house so he was able to maintain full jurisdiction over the quality control. Piguet also ensured that their retail locations in London and Geneva were equipped to execute repairs and customer service issues in-house. For this reason, he was creating a full service experience with his product. From 1894 to 1899, Audemars and Piguet only produced around twelve hundred watches. This relatively small number stands as a testament to Piguet's commitment to excellence. Additionally, Piguet was interested in the company's branding and sales growth. The Edward Piguet collection, named in his honor, is truly distinctive. It is characterized by a unique rectangular case enhanced with two gadroons and lugs with pronounced curves.
