A well-respected name in the watch world, Longines has a long and firmly-rooted association with the field of aviation and the world of sports; since 1832, the company has devoted itself to manufacturing high precision, accurate timepieces. Longines watches were used as timekeepers even before they invented the first automatic timekeeping device in 1912, and have been the official (and non-offical) timekeepers for major sporting events such as the French Open, Kentucky Derby, and Formula 1 races. Likewise, Longines watches were ideal navigators during the early aviation period – Charles Lindbergh himself wore a Longines during his history-making trans-Atlantic flight and even developed his own watch with the manufacturer in the 1930’s. Given its rich history, Longines today continues to introduce watches which are both innovative in design and which remain faithful to the company’s values of tradition, elegance, quality, and accuracy.
